Casa Sol y Montes - Fornalutx, Mallorca

A lovley old house set in the heart of Fornalutx, Mallorca - reputedly the most beautiful village in Spain. This spacious house, which sleeps up to nine people, offers stunning views of the Tramuntana Mountains, recently awarded UNESCO World Heritage Site status. Its beauty and tranquillity will appeal to walkers, cyclists, painters and birdwatchers, or indeed anyone who wants to escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

The house offers five bedrooms (two double, two double/twin, one single) and five bathrooms, two of which are ensuite. It has a spacious, well-equipped kitchen, winter and summer sitting rooms, a dining room, an office, a small reading room with spectacular views and an imposing entrance hall. It has two wood-burning stoves, air conditioning, and central heating throughout. There is a private swimming pool, three large terraces, and an intimate lower terrace which offers shade from the daytime sun. The house is surrounded by an established garden with citrus, almond and olive trees.

The large garage belonging to the property is in the centre of the village. The house itself, like many around it, is inaccessible by car and is approached through the village square and up gently-rising, wide, cobbled steps. A new car park in the village enables guests to drive part-way up to the house, and then walk the remaining distance up steps to the house.  Visitors should be aware  that the steps up to the property make it unsuitable for those with mobility issues.
